BiographyWhat more is there to life than Love? And what better way to live than to express that love daily, through life lived lightly in sacred spaces in a nurturing, spiritual community? Born and raised in Southern California, I live in the Midwest and travel when I can to Newburyport, to support our project. I spend at least a moment each day giving thanks for my many blessings and joys, among them my career as a mediator and attorney, my joyful and wonderful son, my Odonata community of friends, and my beloved partner, David. I was lucky to attend a life-altering week long retreat with my primary spiritual teacher Thich Nhat Hanh in 2007. In addition to spending time with my son, my partner, and friends, I enjoy reading Thay’s books and listening to his Dharma talks, reading other teachers’ works, reading lots of other things from magazines to novels, walking, cooking with as many organic and local ingredients as I can find, meditating, yoga, writing poetry, prose and songs, and travel. One of my favorite sayings is “People are so complex!” Living in community, we gain the great opportunity to experience the fantastically complicated tapestry that is each of us. We learn and grow so much when we live with others in a mindful and conscious way. Odonata will be a beautiful village in which to grow together as a community, as families and as individuals. kim@odonatavillage.org |
