As the vision of our village took shape, and ideas about how we wanted to live in it became clearer, we began searching for professionals with not only the experience required to manifest this project, but with a close alignment to our core values. Those values are not only the number and styles of houses, or whether we recycle or not; instead, it is how we go about our work, how we relate to one another and the world as we do it, how we create a rich and generous lifestyle with our doings, and how we resolve misunderstandings when they inevitably arise.
We are incredibly excited to be working with folks we consider to be the “best of the best” in their respective areas:
- an advisory board composed of long-time community builders and philanthropists;
- a developer with many regional awards for net-zero energy housing, who is active on energy and construction councils, working for a cleaner future;
- an architectof two successful Ecovillages and with a personal mission to foster more, years of design and project experience, influenced by old-style French and Japanese villages;
- a clear and insightful project manager who boasts a quarter-century shepherding major projects to completion;
- and a published village-scape designer who is steeped in Permaculture and multiple-use landscapes, and who has consulted with numerous communities in the past.
We want to make community-based living a reality for us, and we want cooperative living to be a reality for others as well. If you want more information on “how to build an Ecovillage”, send a note to our outreach partnership, at voice@odonatavillage.org. We can help you seed your dream, and give it water!
